The pervasive phenomenon of revenge killings and internal strife in Yemen continues to result in casualties, both in terms of fatalities and injuries. Areas experiencing these incidents are often embroiled in prolonged cycles of revenge wars, and tribal conflicts negatively impact the personal security, as well as the economic and social lives of individuals in those regions. The fragmentation of authority and security institutions, coupled with the conflicts in recent years, has exacerbated the breadth and complexity of this phenomenon. Initiatives led by community or official mediations only manage to address a small percentage of these issues.
